Navya Sahiti Samiti, Hyderabad, a premier literary organisation established in 1952, by a few established writers like Sri Vemaraju Narasimha Rao, Sri K. Veerabhadra Sastry and Potukuchi Sambasiva Rao, set up in 1958, a dramatic Section to produce the plays, playlets and other music and dance programmes of its members and other cultural events on behalf of the association. This was later re-organised and re-styled as the Navya Nataka Samiti, Hyderabad, which is a continuation of the former in all respects. This was registered under the Public Societies Registration Act No. 118/1964. This was also affiliated to the A. P. Sangeeta Nataka Academy.

Since its inception, the Samiti has been in the forefront in the field of performing arts and produced many innovative plays, playlets, musical dance dramas, music and dance concerts etc., and has carved a niche for itself in the cultural history of the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad.
